Will any 10×4.5 winch fit any plate here?
The pattern is standard across 8,000–17,500 lb truck winches — but check the FOOT direction (foot-down vs foot-forward, the WARN upright lesson), the fairlead pattern separately, and the plate’s class against your winch.
Flat plate or channel?
Channel (folded) plates resist flex better at the same steel weight — the Bulldog argument. Flat plates win on fit and price and are adequate through the mid-frame classes they are rated for.
ATV/UTV winch on a truck plate?
No — small-frame winches use a 3.0 x 4.87 in pattern (and wide-spool powersports about 3 x 6.55 in). Powersports mounts are machine-specific; the UTV/ATV guides carry them.
Bumper or frame mount?
