Motorcycles change the light-bar question completely: size, weight, aiming and power draw matter more than raw output, so pods and small bars lead here and full-width bars are the alternative, not the default. This guide compares 5 products on listing and maker evidence, with no testing claims and no invented specifications. Where a specification is not published by the maker, this guide says so rather than filling the gap. Every button in this guide goes to the listing for that exact model, and the calculator below applies the one number that matters most for this category.
How we researched this guide
5 products compared in full, with maker documents and listing pages checked for each model, plus the owner sources linked in the Sources section. A further model was checked and set aside where its exact-model listing could not be verified.
Owner reports are paraphrased only where a real source exists and linked where they are used; where owner coverage is thin, the block says so rather than inventing it. We do not test products. No prices are printed, and every button below goes to the live listing for that exact model.

Mounting width calculator
Bar length must fit the mount, not just the wish list. Enter the width available and this calculator matches a bar or pod pair from this guide.
How to choose
Bar length vs mount
Measure the mount, not the vehicle. A bar that overhangs its mounts vibrates, and vibration reads as a bad beam. Leave room for brackets and adjustment.
Beam pattern: spot, flood or combo
Spot throws distance, flood gives width, combo splits the difference. Open trails want spot, tight woods want flood, and most drivers are best served by a combo.
Output claims vs reality
Maker lumen claims are optimistic across this category. Compare wattage, chip class and beam pattern together, and treat lumen figures as relative, not absolute.
Sealing: IP67 vs IP68
IP67 covers immersion to a metre for a short time; IP68 is the stronger rating. For river crossings and pressure washing, IP68 is worth seeking.
Wiring and current
A bar is only as good as its circuit. Size the relay, fuse and wire for the bar wattage, use a switched circuit, and never run a high-wattage bar on thin factory wiring.
Legality and aiming
Off-road lights are for off-road use in most places. Aim them correctly, switch them off on public roads, and check local rules before fitting.

Detailed reviews: the picks in full
Each block below follows the same order: why it is the pick, its key specifications, where it fits, its pros and watch-outs, what owners report, who should not buy it, and what to pair it with.
Best Value Light Bar: Nilight 20 in 126W Spot Flood Combo Light Bar
Best Value Light Bar
Why the Nilight 20 in 126W Spot Flood Combo Light Bar is our pick
The 126W Nilight is the value light bar of this guide: a 20-inch combo beam bar that has become the default first bar for trucks, Jeeps and UTVs. Its spot-flood combo gives distance down the trail and width at the edges, which is the beam most drivers actually want, and its 9-30V input covers 12V vehicles without fuss. For a first bar, or a bar that must justify itself on one purchase, this is the pick.

- Pro: IP67-class sealing for weather

- Watch-out: Needs a relay harness and a correct switch circuit
Nilight 20 in 126W Spot Flood Combo Light Bar: what owners report
Owner coverage for this bar is the broadest in the group, and it is consistent: buyers praise the beam for the cost and note, fairly, that it is not a premium bar. That is the right expectation for the value pick.
Nilight 20 in 126W Spot Flood Combo Light Bar: who should not buy
Do not buy the Nilight 20 in 126W Spot Flood Combo Light Bar if its main limit is your main need: single-row output is less than the triple-row picks For that case, the better alternative in this guide is the Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar, linked below.
Nilight 20 in 126W Spot Flood Combo Light Bar: pair it with
For maximum output in the same length, the triple-row Nilight below is the step up.

Best High-Output 20 in Bar: Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar
Best High-Output 20 in Bar
Why the Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar is our pick
The 420W triple-row Nilight is the output pick: three rows of LEDs in the same 20-inch length as the value bar, with a harness kit in the box. Its maker output claim is far above the single-row bar, and while maker lumen claims should always be read sceptically, the triple-row design genuinely throws more light. It is the pick for dark rural trails, night work and drivers who found a single-row bar wanting.
Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar key specs
- Model: ZH434
- Length: 20 in
- Power: 420W triple row
- Output: 42,000 lm (maker claim)

- Maker: Nilight
- Warranty: 2 years (maker claim)
- Material: aluminium housing class
- Mounting: bracket and clamp mount variants
Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar: fits and best for
Night drivers, rural and trail users, and anyone who needs maximum light from a 20-inch mounting space. It draws more current, so the wiring must be sized for it.
Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar pros and watch-outs
- Pro: Triple-row output in a 20 in bar
- Pro: Harness kit included in the box
- Pro: Flood spot combo for distance and width
- Pro: Two-year maker warranty claim
- Watch-out: Higher current draw; wiring and relay must match
- Watch-out: Maker lumen claims are optimistic across the category
- Watch-out: Triple-row bars run hotter; airflow matters
Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar: what owners report
Owner reports for triple-row Nilight bars focus on brightness and on the harness: buyers who wire it properly are happy, and buyers who undersize the circuit are not. That is a wiring lesson, not a bar defect, and the installation section covers it.
Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar: who should not buy
Do not buy the Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar if its main limit is your main need: higher current draw; wiring and relay must match For that case, the better alternative in this guide is the Auxbeam 32 in 270W Light Bar, linked below.
Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar: pair it with
For a longer bar with a different beam character, the Auxbeam 32-inch pick below is the alternative.

Best Long Bar: Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar
Best Long Bar
Why the Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar is our pick
The Auxbeam 32-inch bar is the long-bar pick: a 270W 5D Pro lens bar with IP68 sealing and a harness in the box, for trucks and SUVs with a full-width mounting space. Its longer length spreads the beam wider than any 20-inch bar here, which suits open desert and farm tracks more than tight woods. It is the pick when the mounting space, not the budget, decides the bar.
Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar key specs
- Model: ZD000679
- Length: 32 in
- Power: 270W
- Output: 33,000 lm (maker claim)
- Lens: 5D Pro lens
- Beam: spot flood combo
- Waterproof: IP68
- Harness: 10 ft wiring harness kit included
- Chips: P8 LED class
- Maker: Auxbeam
- Warranty: maker warranty (see listing)
Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar: fits and best for
Full-size truck and SUV owners with a 32-inch mounting space, and drivers who want width as well as distance. Measure the space before ordering; a 32-inch bar does not shrink.
Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar pros and watch-outs
- Pro: 32 in width for a broad beam
- Pro: IP68 sealing, the strongest rating here
- Pro: 5D Pro lens and harness included
- Pro: 270W with P8-class chips
- Watch-out: Needs a full 32 in of mounting space
- Watch-out: Longer bars catch more wind and vibration
- Watch-out: Maker lumen claims should be read sceptically
Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar: what owners report
Owner coverage for Auxbeam long bars stresses the IP68 sealing and the beam width, with the recurring note to mount rigidly: a long bar on a flexing mount vibrates, and vibration reads as a bad beam. A solid mount is part of the purchase.
Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar: who should not buy
Do not buy the Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar if its main limit is your main need: needs a full 32 in of mounting space For that case, the better alternative in this guide is the Nilight 20 in 420W Triple Row Light Bar, linked below.
Auxbeam 32 in 270W 5D Pro Light Bar: pair it with
For a shorter, higher-output bar, the Nilight triple-row pick above is the alternative.

Best Pod Pair: Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair
Best Pod Pair
Why the Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair is our pick
The Auxbeam pods are the flexible pick: a pair of 4-inch pods with a spot-flood combo, dual-colour amber/white modes and IP68 sealing, for ditch lights, bumper lights and A-pillar mounts where a bar will not fit. Pods solve the problems bars cannot: aimed light at the trail edge, a small footprint, and a pair that can be aimed independently. For motorcycles, tight trails and auxiliary lighting, pods beat bars.
Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair key specs
- Model: ZD000647
- Size: 4 in pods, pair
- Power: 120W pair
- Output: 12,000 lm pair (maker claim)
- Beam: spot flood combo, triple row
- Modes: 6 modes, dual colour amber/white
- Waterproof: IP68
- Voltage: 12V class
- Maker: Auxbeam
- Warranty: maker warranty (see listing)
- Use: ditch, bumper and A-pillar mounting
Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair: fits and best for
Motorcycle, UTV and truck owners who need aimed auxiliary light, ditch lighting or a small-footprint pair. They are also the right answer when a full bar has nowhere to mount.
Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair pros and watch-outs
- Pro: Pair of aimable 4 in pods
- Pro: Dual-colour amber/white with 6 modes
- Pro: IP68 sealing
- Pro: Small footprint for tight mounts
- Watch-out: Less total output than a full bar
- Watch-out: Two mounts and two aims to set up
- Watch-out: Mode switching needs the correct switch setup
Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair: what owners report
Owner reports for Auxbeam pods highlight the amber mode for dust and fog, which is the feature that justifies pods over a plain white bar. The watch-out is aiming: pods aimed badly are worse than no pods at all.
Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair: who should not buy
Do not buy the Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair if its main limit is your main need: less total output than a full bar For that case, the better alternative in this guide is the Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair, linked below.
Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair: pair it with
For a simpler, smaller pod pair, the Nilight pods below are the alternative.

Best Small Pods: Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair
Best Small Pods
Why the Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair is our pick
The Nilight 18W pods are the small-pod pick: a flush-mount-friendly pair for bumpers, trailers and work lighting where a big bar is overkill. Their flood beam suits close work, reversing and camp lighting better than distance, which is exactly what a small pod should do. They are the pick for the buyer who needs light at the vehicle, not light down the trail.
Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair key specs
- Model: 14023F-B / NI23C-18W family
- Size: 4 in pods, pair

Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair: fits and best for
Trailer, work-truck and camp users who need close flood light, and drivers adding a small auxiliary pair without a big wiring project.
Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair pros and watch-outs
- Pro: Small, simple flood pods
- Pro: Flush-mount friendly for bumpers
- Pro: IP67 sealing and 2-year warranty claim
- Pro: Low draw, easy wiring
- Watch-out: Flood only; no distance beam
- Watch-out: Small output compared with the bar picks
- Watch-out: Not a substitute for a driving bar
Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair: what owners report
Owner coverage for small Nilight pods is straightforward: they are bought for work light and reversing light, and judged on that. Buyers who expected distance from an 18W flood pod were disappointed by their own expectation, not by the pod.
Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair: who should not buy
Do not buy the Nilight 18W LED Pods Pair if its main limit is your main need: flood only; no distance beam For that case, the better alternative in this guide is the Auxbeam 4 in 120W LED Driving Pods Pair, linked below.

Installation and setup basics
Mount the bar or pods rigidly to a solid bracket, torque the mounts, and leave adjustment room for aiming. Wire through a relay with a fuse sized for the bar, on a switched circuit, and keep wiring away from heat and moving parts. Aim on a flat surface after dark: the beam centre should sit below oncoming eye level for road-legal auxiliary lights, and the trail beam should be checked at real distance. Seal connections, route the harness with slack for vibration, and recheck mounts after the first rough run. For wiring and recovery accessories, see the guides linked in Related guides below.

Safety essentials
- Never wire a light bar straight off the battery without a relay and fuse.
- Switch off-road lights off on public roads.
- Aim lights so they do not blind other drivers.
- Keep wiring away from exhaust heat and moving parts.
- Disconnect the battery before wiring work.
- Recheck mounts after the first rough run; a loose bar is a hazard.

Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Bar flickers | Weak circuit or interference | Check relay, fuse, wire size and grounds; use an EMC-rated harness where needed |
| Bar dims at idle | Voltage drop or weak charging | Check battery, alternator and wire size for the bar wattage |
| Water inside the lens | Seal failure | Dry, reseal or replace per the maker warranty; check the IP rating |
| Bar vibrates | Flexible mount | Stiffen the mount and recheck torque |
| One pod out | Connection or pod failure | Swap connections to isolate wiring from the pod, then replace the faulty part |
| Switch gets hot | Undersized switch circuit | Move the load to a relay circuit and use the switch for control only |
Who should NOT buy these
(‘You only drive on public roads’, ‘Off-road bars are not road lights in most places. Road-legal auxiliary lights and better headlights are the right purchase for road use.’)
(‘You have nowhere rigid to mount’, ‘A bar on a flexing mount vibrates and performs badly. Fix the mount first, or choose pods on a solid bracket.’)
(‘You will not wire it properly’, ‘A high-wattage bar on thin wiring is a fire risk. If proper relay wiring is not going to happen, do not fit the bar.’)

FAQ
What is the best LED off-road light bar?
The best bar depends on mounting width and beam need. A 20-inch combo bar suits most trucks, a 32-inch bar suits full-width mounts, and pods suit tight mounts. The Nilight 126W bar is the value answer, and the Auxbeam 32-inch bar is the long-bar answer.
Are LED light bars legal on the road?
Off-road light bars are generally for off-road use, and road rules vary by place. Switch them off on public roads and check local rules before fitting.
What does IP68 mean on a light bar?
IP68 is a dust-tight rating with immersion beyond a metre under maker test conditions. It is stronger than IP67, which covers immersion to a metre for a short time. For water crossings, IP68 is the safer rating.
Spot, flood or combo beam?
Spot gives distance, flood gives width, and combo gives both in one bar. Most trail drivers are best served by a combo, with pods added for aimed ditch light.
How do I wire a light bar?
Through a relay with a correctly sized fuse, on a switched circuit, with wire sized for the wattage. The switch controls the relay; it does not carry the bar current.
Can I mount a light bar on a motorcycle?
Pods suit motorcycles far better than bars, because of size, weight and aiming. The Auxbeam pod pair in this guide is the motorcycle-relevant pick, with a solid bracket and a correct circuit.
Why does my light bar flicker?
Flicker usually means a weak circuit, a poor ground, or interference. Check the relay, fuse, wire size and grounds first, and use a harness made for the bar.
What size light bar do I need?
The size your mount fits, measured honestly. A 20-inch bar fits most trucks and Jeeps; a 32-inch bar needs a full-width mount; pods fit everywhere else. The calculator above applies the measurement.
Do light bars drain the battery?
A high-wattage bar draws real current, so it should run with the engine on and on a correctly sized circuit. Left on with the engine off, any bar will drain a battery.
